I write in a musical world where there is a constant race to find the next great sound no one has ever heard before. To be on the cutting edge and to have the chance to say “Hey, check out this great new band/artist I found before you!”. But that’s not what I am about. Sure it’s great to be one of the first of my friends to hear and share a great new tune, but it’s more about listening to a song and having a connection with it – to the point where I want to hear it over and over. That’s exactly the case when I first heard “Not The Only One” only a few weeks ago by London music producer WILLIAM ARCANE. It is a song that resonates with me and I have tried to play it every chance I can get ever since. The song is just an absolute beaut! There is no other way to put it. I am easily drawn to tracks with enticing intros and “Not The Only One” has one incredible twinkling of the keys opening. I love how the track slowly winds up the energy and intensity along the way, building emotion piece by piece, opening up beautifully into a room filling sound layered with resplendently rolling synth loops, smoothly steady drum kit back beats, and masterfully manipulated vocals. There is an underlying magnetism I feel towards it that is impossible to fully describe. I just become a part of the music. An effect all great music has on me. Well done WILLIAM ARCANE. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of your upcoming EP on Pictures Music!
