Lots of interesting music floating around my way recently but one song in particular has caught my ears. Having learned of the passing of one of my uncles to a mysterious disease only a few hours ago, I am increasingly drawn to “Pestilence”; a tech house smooth groove of a track by Aussie producer VICTOR Y. There is nothing very flashy about “Pestilence” and with a title like that the song shouldn’t be. But it’s powerful and entertaining nonetheless. I love how the steady pace and somber mood under the surface pushes me to a state of thankful reflection, sitting with a surreal realization of what it might feel like to know everything will never be the same again. “Pestilence” is an end of days, think about only things that matter type of dark dance floor track that makes me wonder how I might react if such a dire scenario comes to fruition. Unfortunately this situation seems like it is reaching closer to home a lot faster than I ever anticipated. “Pestilence” by VICTOR Y is my pick for TMH! Hot Track Of The Week!
