Tabrill ~ Letters (ft. Youth Allowance)

TABRILL Letters Artwork!

Who is TABRILL?  An up-and-coming music producer from Brisbane: otherwise known as Zach Alvos!

My first impression of “Letters” : An interesting mash-up of styles creating feelings of sadness and struggle but hinting that everything will eventually be ok.  At least a bit better someday!

My take : I have been close to featuring a TABRILL track for some time now and with “Letters”, I have finally ‘taken the proverbial plunge’.  Born out of what seemed like another friendly encounter at a local party, TABRILL and fellow Brisbane indie rockers YOUTH ALLOWANCE (reportedly only YOUTH ALLOWANCE member Will Briskey) took a probable inebriated idea and brought it to life on musical paper.  Spelling out thoughts and emotions in a way that is simplistically confusing yet easy to relate to.  “Letters” blends the electronic producing prowess I am starting to expect from a TABRILL production and brilliantly integrates Briskey’s warm and reassuring vocals to create a great sounding track with tantalizing beats and harmonious tempo changes.  Very well done for a song about loss and depression anyway!

TMH RATING: 7.8/10 Very Good!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!
