Sohn ~ The Wheel!

“The Wheel” rolls over my ‘hear’ buds with an attention grabbing chopped up opening vocal and carries me along quite a beautiful musical experience.  Listening to this track, I picture myself walking down a street with a light and airy voice speaking to me from inside my head.  The tone is calming but contemplative as past experiences keep flashing through my mind.   The mood is complex but interesting guiding me along with varying tempos, a subtly deep bass line and reappearing drum claps.  The lyrics are simple but can hold so much meaning if you close your eyes and let it take over.   You have to deeply listen to “The Wheel” and let yourself relax to truly appreciate it.

Sohn, a music producer currently based out of Vienna,  is one of the most blogged about new electronic artists out there these days and earlier releases like the track “Warnings” show a tremendous amount of talent.    Check out both tunes here and make your own decision. My opinion has already been made!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Dude yeah. I’m pretty sure I understand exactly what they are talking about in the piece. In a broader take away you could say: Whatever it is we think we desire and will finally make it feel real and yourself whole is something not real and you are suffering perusing it and for nothing. And that the ego (who is at the wheel day to day as you play your character and name isn’t even you.) Stop pursuing and desiring. Then you will be free and be you. Its about ego death…I could drag that out more eloquently but point being, this is indeed art
