rokár ~ textiety!

Leading the charge for genre defying individuality, armed with electronically infused ‘dream pop’ in hand, is the new music producing duo rokár based in Düsseldorf/Berlin, Germany.  The recently formed pairing began mixing styles earlier this May and on September 30th dropped a 5-piece rapturous debut EP entitled ‘Textiety’.  All five tracks contain beautiful elements of electronic, dance and post-dubstep sounds but the EP’s titled track stands head and shoulders above the others.

“Textiety” opens with an echoing drum sequence that is both suspenseful and intriguing.  As each layer of electronic goodness is added on, the blended sound becomes increasingly magnetic and lively.  The vocals are nicely chopped up and scattered throughout the bulk of the track adding just enough flavor on top without becoming too overpowering.  From start to finish “Textiety is a gorgeous electronic tune and foreshadows more exciting new music could be on the horizon.

Patrick Luckert and Andreas Puyskens are the creative twenty-somethings behind rokár and have just begun revealing their musical style behind the masks they wear.  Check out their debut EP at any of the links I have provided and make sure you check out the stylish music video made for “Textiety”.  It’s well worth your time!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
