MT Warning ~ Youth Bird!

MT Warning Youth Bird Artwork!

Time stands still for no one and growing older is just a fact of life.  But just by closing my eyes I can be as young again as I want to be.  Bringing together both worlds of those reminiscing about the past and of those who need a little push to enjoy every moment of being young now, “Youth Bird” by Australian band MT WARNING is absolutely phenomenal.  It’s a song that is more than just a gorgeous blend of purposefully strummed guitars, of passionately pounded drums and of intensely spirited vocals.  It’s also a beautiful sounding collision of emotion that stirs up a war inside of me pitting my extreme feelings of grief and sorrow of memories gone by against a sense of realization that I can appreciate the past while enjoying exactly how young I am now.  It’s just up to me to decide if my eyes are open or closed this time!

MT WARNING is a neat collaboration between musician Mikey Bee and film-maker Taylor Steele.  Their aim is to use songs to tell a unique story while being part of a bigger story both musically and visually.  In other words, the bigger story is an album.   Quite a challenge but very interesting nonetheless.  Check out the official video for “Youth Bird” as it showcases frontman Mikey Bee playing all the different instrumental parts of the song in one night.  It’s actually way cooler than that sounds.  The ‘Youth Bird’ EP is available now in the States here.

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
