Motsa ~ Clocks (feat. Mimu)

MOTSA Time EP Artwork!

Who is MOTSA?  He is Valerio Dittrich: A half-Austrian/half-Russian electronic producer based out of Vienna!

My first impression of “Clocks” :  An incredible collision of floor pounding bass, highly digitized beats, ear-tingling vocal hums and intricate harmonic textures!

My take :  Electronic music is vastly becoming a huge melting pot of different sounds thrown together like I have never heard before.  And with innovative tracks like “Clocks” being created and launched out into the world, I have to say I don’t mind the experimentation one bit.  Using a uniquely diverse style in shaping the vibe around “Clocks”, MOTSA is able to build a song with sweeping layers that come at me in relentless waves.  From a melded intro of digital snaps and vocal humming-like splashes to a driving crash of house style beats, some interesting bell clanks and the alluringly delicate power behind the voice of MIMU, “Clocks” keeps the dancing minute hand beautifully ticking.  Simply put, “Clocks” is cleverly constructed and beautifully produced! Enough said!

“Clocks” is my favorite of four great tracks on MOTSA‘s “Time” EP out now on Southern Fried Records.  Pick it up on iTunes or from Beatport here!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!
