Love Mansuy ~ San Lucas!

Love Mansuy San Lucas Artwork!

When I think of ‘Cabo’,  I picture sexy people, gorgeous beaches and bright sunshiny days.  And in the debut track “San Lucas” from Montreal artist LOVE MANSUY,  it’s clear I am not the only one.  The beginning of the track jumps off with an incredible blend of Mexican-style guitars, drums and horns that immediately take me south of the border.  But that’s really as far as the song takes me in this respect.  Behind stargazing lyrics about a girl who seems to constantly dream about traveling the world, “San Lucas” is really a story about trying to discover herself.  About building up the courage to take a step forward when everything might be more comfortable standing still.  Inevitably, I feel what she might feel, envisioning all sorts of different emotions along the way.  I can relate to the desire to experience new places and to learn new things but having that fear of the unknown that keeps holding me back.  At the song’s most tedious moments, LOVE MANSUY vocally paints a vivid image of a girl who could be afraid and confused or could even just be a flat-out liar.  There are moments where the track loses some steam towards the end but it never completely fizzles out.  And as the music turns to lighthearted banter and laughter,  I am ultimately left wondering if she will ever stop imagining and finally start doing.  Either way, the beaches of “San Lucas”  awaits!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!
