I come across a lot of interesting new music everyday but no songs have captured my full attention this year like LONDON GRAMMAR songs. The UK trio first jumped through my headphones with their debut single, “Hey Now”, and have continued to impress with newer releases including their stunning track “Wasting My Young Years”. And now comes “Strong” with its stripped down electronic exterior, showcasing the unrelenting beauty and power behind Hannah Reid’s vocals. I feel the emotion behind every word as her voice leaves me sitting still, with my eyes closed, painting a mental portrait of some of my past experiences inside my head. It’s quite an incredible experience to sit through. “Strong” may not grab me and give me chills like “Wasting My Young Years” continues to do, but it proves LONDON GRAMMAR has the ability to affect listeners just by making music. It’s engaging and heartfelt and shows the group is relatable to almost anyone. I know a lot people around the world are as anxious as I am for any news on a debut album release date. I have a feeling it will be one of my favorite new albums when that finally happens!
