I have been a fan of Danny Choi ever since I heard the track “Seconds” earlier this year and the LA based producer is back with the soaring track “So High”. Donning his musical mask we are becoming to know as GHOST LOFT, the Californian showcases a different and slower vibe on “So High” than his first release but the song is skillfully put together once again. Choi uses beautiful synth swirls to embellish a deeply lush bassline and R&B style beats forming a thick layer of sound most other producers can only dream of creating. The intoxicating vocals seem carefully laid across the track on two different levels and they almost feel as if they are separate instruments themselves. Quite a great feat I might add. I especially enjoyed how the song made me feel more relaxed the more I listened to it even though I feel like the song goes by way too fast. “So High” is an absolutely gorgeous track I can easily see myself plopping down on the sofa, closing my eyes and listening to after a long hard day at work. I think I might give that a try soon.
GHOST LOFT is doing big things in 2013 and “So High” will be prominently featured on the Kitsune America 2 Compilation due out on April 29th. It will also be part of a highly anticipated EP I can’t wait to get my ears on!
