It’s fitting my first post of 2013 is an electronically prepared dish of remix infused deliciousness served up by another rising music producing phenom considering the amazing amount of new talent that emerged behind the computer decks throughout 2012. Following in the footsteps of other Future Classic artists, CHARLES MURDOCH brings to the table his own set of musical seasonings as he adds his own flavor to the wildly popular Flume track “Sleepless”.
The first CHARLES MURDOCH standout moment hits you from the very start with a smooth and gradually building intro that naturally gives way to the familiar glitched out elements heard in the original. But as you dive into the redone track, one satisfying bite at a time, a slightly different style begins to emerge. The vocals are still chopped up and staggered but sprinkled across the beats in a new way that is more melodious and complementary. The overall vibe is less frantic than it’s predecessor and gives off a fantastic room filling aroma that calls out for a second helping.
CHARLES MURDOCH‘s remix of Flume‘s “Sleepless” provides us a tiny glimpse of an emerging musical talent with all the skills needed to take the electronic music world by storm in the coming year. He is definitely an artist I will try to keep an eye on and I think you might want to do the same.
