House music has been around for ages and has produced some of the most celebrated DJs of all time. From the brilliant early remixing days of Frankie Knuckles to today’s watered down David Guetta dance shams, house music has grown in popularity by leaps and bounds without any signs of slowing down. It seems there are house DJs around every corner these days, many with a lot of mixing talent, and every once in a while I hear a track that takes me back to a time when house music just felt good. The latest tune to fire up my time traveling machine and throw me smack down into the middle of a fun house party memory is “Under The Lights” by Diamond Dealer.
Having built a dedicated fanbase in the house crazy hotspot that is modern South Africa, Diamond Dealer has taken his talents to southern France with similar plans to build a strong following. Working with Broadway actor Sydney James Harcourt, “Under The Lights” shows this plan is off to a great start. Harcourt’s vocals are soulful and unforced matching the uplifting mood of the tune. The tempo is on the slower side but fast enough in parts to rile up a packed dance floor. “Under The Lights” is a solid house tune and foreshadows great music productions are on the horizon. Be on the lookout and turn off that David Guetta nonsense!!!
