I have somehow missed the emergence of talented music producer CYRIL HAHN having only heard of him a few days ago. Better late then never as they say. Born in Switzerland and now dropping crazy good remixes by way of Vancouver, HAHN has built quite a collection of solid reinterpretations including unique versions of Gabrielle Aplin’s “Please Don’t Say You Love Me” and Alpines’ “Chances”(one of my new favorites). And with his latest release, “Perfect Form” featuring the musical talents of Portland’s SHY GIRLS, I just might be witnessing his best musical creation to date.
“Perfect Form” is one sexy tune. It’s a type of addicting song that gets inside my head and somehow just stays there. Leaving me wanting to hear more. The vocals have a sultry and seductive vibe to them reminding me of a delivery I might recognize in a Robin Thicke number. The alternating synth chord melodies are smoothly paired with a deep hard-hitting bassline and are like candy to my ears. There is a nice dancy vibe resonating throughout the track that urges me to get up and move but is still chill enough to enjoy just sitting back and relaxing to. “Perfect Form” is simply a beautiful debut for CYRIL HAHN and it looks like the best is yet to come. Maybe I am not so late after all!
