Arctic Lake ~ Limits

Arctic Lake!

Who is ARCTIC LAKE?  An ambient trio from North London: They are Emma Foster, Andy Richmond and Paul Holliman!

My first impression of “Limits” :  A melodiously somber song about being “stuck in a routine” and the almost hopeless yearning for change!

My take :  When I listen to “Limits” by newcomers ARCTIC LAKE, I think about how my life feels like Groundhog’s Day at times. Where my Monday through Friday schedule repeats like clockwork, as if it’s controlling me instead of the other way around.  And there lies the beauty behind this powerfully contemplative track. The melancholic and almost hypnotizing atmosphere allows any listener to escape into whatever situation they feel trapped by.  Breathing in Emma Foster‘s weighty and wistful vocal style with each pensive breath, transforming intensely reflective lyrics as our very own.  “Limits” not only goes through me but has a way of consuming me.  Leaving me sitting here hoping for a change that might never come!

ARCTIC LAKE has turned a lot of heads since dropping this track over a month ago including my own.  And with other songs like “Limits” presumably on the horizon, the best is yet to come!

TMH RATING: 7.9/10 Very Good!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!
