The Altais ~ Low!

The Altais!

There is nothing quite like the sound of an acoustic guitar strum and the Indie folk duo, THE ALTAIS (Tully Davidson & Eliza-Jane Doherty), use its power to paint a harmonious moving picture full of emotional intimacy and heartfelt despair with their latest single “Low”.   Each ethereal brushstroke of guitar along with delicate splashes of piano and obscure blots of violin unconsciously draw me further in as I feel the highs and lows firsthand.  I love how Tully’s whisper-like vocals gently push me along with ease similar to how a Ben Howard or a City and Colour song can.  “Low” has a subtle power to musically tap into my empathetic side with little help from lyrics that are anything but transparent.  Like the gradual fade out towards the end where the song seems to hit a bottom point and beautifully build back up from there.  It brings to mind the saying “with every high there is a low”.  And no matter what part of that spectrum I may be experiencing, it’s up to me to keep moving! “Low” is a great first single off of a debut EP by THE ALTAIS  that I look forward to hearing real soon!

Born in sunny San Diego and raised in central Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois @Urbana-Champaign and spent the better part of 10 years in sunny Phoenix Arizona after graduation. I now reside in Savoy IL and I try to make it up to the Chicago music scene as much as I can. Music has always been a part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
